Earlier this month Buck Norris (our first ever Buck) was officially put out with the ladies, marking an important milestone in our operation and as we shift from the hustle of fall into the calm, steady rhythm of winter. Thereās a noticeable change that comes with this time of year: fewer chores at a sprint, more moments of observation, and a deep appreciation for the quieter pace.
If all goes according to plan (which it appears to be), weāre expecting kidding to begin in May! Winter on the farm is our season to reset. Itās soup season, warm pots simmering on the stove after cold mornings outside. Itās time for planning, and taking stock before the whirlwind returns.
While things feel calm now, we know this pause is simply the runway to a very busy 2026 season. For now, weāre leaning into the quiet: animals comfortable, routines steady, and plans forming. Buck Norris is right where he needs to be, the ladies are settled, and the farm is tucked in for winter.
Hereās to slow days, warm meals, and the promise of new life just a few months away.
